The Problem: From age 0-2 years children's clothing is sorted into the following sizes: Preemie, Newborn, 3 month, 6 month, 9 month, 12 month, 18 month, and 24 month. This places parents and caretakers on a tight schedule to replace a child's wardrobe every 2 to 3 months for the first two years of their child's life. This is not efficient in terms of cost and environmental sustainability while also creating additional stress for new parents.
The Goal: To connect users, parents and caretakers, with their local community so that they can find or resell their children's clothing in order to create a cost effective and environmentally friendly cycle.

User Research
Persona
Nicole Raegan (She/Hers) Age: 37 Hometown: Memphis, Tennessee Occupation: ER Nurse Family: Husband and son + 3 Chihuahuas "Luca is growing like a weed. I barely get finished buying the next size in clothes and before I know it everything is tight. From preemie to 24 months I have been constantly trying to stay ahead of his growth spurts." Problem Statement: Nicole is struggling to stay one step ahead of her son as he outgrows his clothes. She is finding the constant purchasing of clothing to be financially burdensome and wishes there was an alternative option within her community to get the necessary items. She would also love to empty the closet of clothes her son has already outgrown so that another child can make use of the lightly used garments and she can regain some organization in her home. |
Goal Statement: The mobile app Sprouts will let users find and sell children's clothing ages 0-3 within their local community. We will measure effectiveness by running usability study to discover possible painpoints.

Painpoints:
Painpoints:
- Confusion about payment process. At what part of the process do you link payment apps/accounts?
- Users would like filters to separate out types of clothing.
- Users would like to see profile images of other users before finishing transaction.
- Users would like to be able to choose which buyer to sell to.
- Sellers want to be able to take a photo of products by connecting to Camera App instead of uploading image from Photo Library.
- Users were wondering if there could be sections to resell toys, unused formula and diapers, as well as children's furniture.

Conclusions:
- This App could be expanded beyond just the resale of children's clothing to include: toys, unused formula and diapers, as well as children's furniture. If the Sprouts App could cater to more than one resale topic within the arena of child preparedness then it would potentially attract a greater audience and, therefore, would create a richer product base for users to choose from.
- I would like to do further research in terms of integrating payment methods (Zelle, Venmo & PayPal) within an App or website.
